Rick Dykstra MP for St Catherines on human rights On 10 July 2012, citizens attended an event hosted by Chuck Konkel to discuss Human Rights in Sri Lanka. MP Rick Dykstra Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and guest speaker travelled there. In his words: "Canada remains concerned the government of Sri Lanka has not fully addressed grave accusations of serious human rights violations that occurred during the end of the conflict.... Canada demands Sri Lanka set up an independent probe of alleged war crimes."

Konkel's Carolers The Scarborough Guildwood Conservative Association did its part to add high notes to the lives of seniors living in the area by being involved in some wonderful Yule Tide entertainment for area seniors.

Seelan Rangers- Chuck's continued involvement 2012 The Seelan Rangers are Scarborough's largest independent youth sports league involving over 500 families-- all proudly Canadian! Chuck Konkel is honoured to have been named patron of the Rangers and continues in his active sponsorship of this fine organization... This past summer the club had a fantastic barbeque at Morningside Park and Chuck and his family were very pleased to be a part of it all.

Konkels Karnival 2012 edition The second annual Konkel's Karnival was a resounding success as the Scarborough Guildwood Consevative association hosted several thousand people during the week long event. Over 6,000 balloons were handed out and the skies above Scarborough were bright blue .. Nothing could match the smiles on the kids faces ...A true community event that was shared and enjoyed by all

Prime Minister & the Harpers with Pope Benedict In July 2009, Pope Benedict XVI invited Prime Minister Stephen Harper to a special private audience at the Vatican. It marked the first meeting of Canada's Prime Minister and Pope Benedict. The entire Harper family, including wife Laureen and children Ben and Rachel, had the honour to meet Pope Benedict.
